ICANN85 - Hybrid ISPCP Outreach Session - Data Sharing for Abuse Mitigation: Balancing Privacy and Security

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)'s Technical Engagement Team is excited to announce a series of training sessions in collaboration with the Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers (ISPCP) Constituency and the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC). These sessions are aimed at both technical and non-technical individuals and will focus on topics related to the Domain Name System (DNS). The sessions are intended for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) worldwide. They will be conducted online and in person at ICANN meetings in convenient time zones.

This session, Data Sharing for Abuse Mitigation: Balancing Privacy and Security, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, starting at 16:30 PM CEST (local time).

Data Sharing for Abuse Mitigation: Balancing Privacy and SecurityHow can operators share actionable data to combat online abuse without overstepping privacy and data-protection laws? This session explores data-sharing models, relevant legal frameworks - including GDPR and NIS2 - and operational tools that support effective and timely abuse mitigation.

Experts from the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) and the Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers Constituency (ISPCP) will share their experience and perspectives, offering insights for policy makers, network operators, DNS providers, and the wider Internet industry.
